High school sailing at LMSS provides a team atmosphere where sailors represent their school during the fall and spring seasons. With practices and regattas tailored to various levels of experience and competition, this popular after-school activity is a perfect way to extend sailing beyond the summer.
All sailors on the Middle/High School Teams must have sailing experience. Our Rec 12-16 and 420 Learn to Race courses are great ways to gain experience. If your sailor wants to sail in the fall but is new to the sport, please refer to the “Fall/Spring Rec 420” page.
Fees for high school sailing include coaching and supported participation in MISSA scheduled competitions. LMSS fees do not include a Laser sailboat (fall sailing option), personal equipment, competition fees, or additional school athletic fees.
Sailors will practice during the week with the option to participate in the local Conference series on Saturdays (420s) along with our team race (spring) series. Additional travel regattas may become available based on experience and skill.
LMSS is the host to the following middle and high school teams: Breck School, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, and The Blake School.
If your sailor does not attend one of these schools, but would still like to sail, please refer to our “Fall/Spring Rec 420” page.
