Rec 12-16 — 420s
These one-week classes are focused on fun and learning, with curriculum appropriate for both novice and more experienced recreational sailors. 8:30AM-3:30PM.
We focus on sailing fundamentals, including boat/water safety, steering, upwind and downwind sailing, sail trim, knot tying, and sailing terminology. With these skills, sailors will develop the ability to control their boats and adjust to different conditions on the water. Boats for this class are provided by LMSS.
Families are welcome to join us on Friday afternoons of each session to watch your sailors in action and for a graduation ceremony to celebrate their learning.
Instructors will suggest the next step for each sailor based on their skills and abilities throughout the week. We recommend signing up for two or more Recreational Sailing sessions prior to advancing to Learn to Race.
Sign up for “Island Time” – the LMSS early drop-off/late pick-up program for drop-off as early as 8am and pick up as late as 4pm.
NEW IN 2025:
