Learn the basics of sailing, enjoy the peacefulness of time on the water (Sonar — Rec/Learn to Sail), or learn to race in the new RS Fevas and hear from Minnetonka Yacht Club racers on the steps to get involved with racing, with the opportunity to join a crew list for future races.

• Sonar — Rec/Learn to Sail: Taught in 23′ Sonar Keelboats, 4 – 5 sailors per boat, along with an instructor. No experience required.

  • Curriculum includes understanding points of sail, and sailing upwind and downwind through discussion, diagrams, and participation

• Feva — Learn to Race: Taught in LMSS’s new RS Feva XL sailboats, 2-3 sailors per boat.

  • Pre-requisite: “LMSS Sonar — Rec/Learn to Sail” class in 2025 season, or with prior approval from Rec Director.
