Middle (grades 7-8) and high school (grades 9-12) sailing at LMSS has grown from a handful of dedicated sailors and parents to over 45 sailors in each of the spring and fall seasons. With practices and regattas tailored to all experience levels, this popular after-school activity is a perfect way to continue sailing beyond the summer.
During each season, a solid calendar of local and traveling regattas allows sailors interested in competing the opportunity to do so. For local regattas, teams may be comprised of sailors from several different schools and grade levels, while traveling Varsity regattas often require teams to be comprised of four sailors from the same high school. LMSS will always assist in the development of a sailing team at any school, even if there is not one currently in place.
Fees for middle and high school sailing include coaching, use of LMSS boats and sails, and supported participation in local and travel regattas. LMSS fees do not include regatta or travel costs, or additional school athletic fees.
Once the ice goes out, LMSS is on the water with our middle and high school sailors. Come brave the elements and join the fun!
